Named after three nearby mountains, Faith, Hope and Charity – now simply known as The Three Sisters – Sisters, Oregon is famous for its Old West atmosphere and outdoor recreational opportunities. Mountain biking is especially popular in this area. The Sisters Ranger District maintains more than 50 mountain bike trails ranging from expert- to novice-level terrain. Bird watching, horseback riding, fly-fishing, river rafting and golfing are also ideal in this high, arid terrain.
This vibrant community is surrounded by the Deschutes National Forest and the landscape of Ponderosa pines and majestic mountain views, has made Sisters a favorite small town destination location. In addition to the wide selection of outdoor recreation, Sisters is also know for its varied art community including galleries, arts, and music festivals. Each year, jazz, folk music, Native American arts, and various art shows are feature presentations.
Sisters is so close to Bend that the combination of the two communities provides for a number of choices for accommodations, dining and entertainment.
