Overview
Located in the beautiful Willamette National Forest in Central Oregon, Hoodoo Ski Area is definitely one of the area’s best kept secrets. Smaller and much less crowded than larger resorts, visitors to Hoodoo Ski Resort can access a variety of groomed and ungroomed terrain via five lifts. Night skiing, a tube park, and nearly 16 kilometers of Nordic trails make this a great winter destination for the entire family.
Location
Hoodoo Ski Resort Oregon is located 40 miles northwest of Bend off Highway 20 just past the Santiam Pass. To get to the ski area from Highway 20, turn south on Big Lake Road (NF 2690) and follow the signs. The nearest towns are Camp Sherman (just over 17 miles) and Sisters (20 miles).
Season/Hours
Hoodoo Ski Bowl usually opens around late November and closes early to mid-April, depending on conditions. Night skiing doesn’t start until after mid-December. It is open 6 days a week and is closed on Wednesdays unless otherwise indicated. Hours of operation are 9 am to 4 pm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; and 9 am to 9 pm on Friday and Saturday.
Mountain Services
Hoodoo Ski Area offers a variety of services, including a ski shop, rental and repair shops, Snowboard and Nordic centers, a bar with a lounge area, a deli and a pizza pub. Downhill ski, snowboard, Nordic ski, and snowbike / airboard lessons are available. The Mountain Cub Program is a ski program for children ages 4 to 6 on holidays and weekends. Individuals with disabilities, along with their families, are welcome to participate in the Oregon Adaptive Sports program.
